During my internship, I contributed meaningfully to several components of the project, blending critical theory with digital humanities practice. Early on, I engaged deeply with the six tenets of Black Feminism and Borderlands Theory, using them to craft a Borderlands reading of selected episodes. This analytical work directly supported the development of a dissertation by offering a lens that foregrounds intersectionality and cultural hybridity. This pedagogical resource is intended to help students, graduate instructors, and faculty better engage with complex literary texts while modeling accessible, equitable teaching strategies.
I also contributed to the digital critical edition by carefully selecting the most relevant definitions from the Oxford English Dictionary for specific key terms. These curated definitions will appear in the searchable Glossary of Terms, helping future readers engage more clearly with the text’s layered language. On the technical side, I supported the project’s web development by revising and reorganizing content for improved UX and UI. These changes were made with user accessibility and clarity in mind, ensuring that the edition is both engaging and navigable. Finally, I completed the self-reflection and contributor experience document proposed by Jo McIntosh, the primary editor of the edition. I plan to revisit and update this document every few months to support transparent, inclusive editorial practices and to grow in my own ability to curate a user-centered digital scholarly resource.
